Session Title: Parkinsonism, MSA, PSP (secondary and parkinsonism-plus)
Session Time: 12:30pm-2:00pm
Location: Exhibit Hall located in Hall B, Level 2
Objective: Studying the importance of color differentiating in order to detect PD at earlier stages.
Methods: Ishihara Test (IT) was experimented in 30 patients at the age of 45-53 who were suspected for Parkinson’s disease(PD).(It is the test program based on 38 colorful plates acquired 5 sec. to identify the shape or number for each plate).
Results: 18 patients’ answers accuracy accounted for 65-75%, 7 patients’ accounted for 80-90% and 5 patients’ accounted for 90-97%. After testing, all patients have taken ½tab. of “carbidopa-levodopa”, twice a day. As the result, 18 patients at 65-75% group have gotten better, 7 patients at 80-90% group have gotten a bit better. The rest 5 patients health conditions have not changed.
Conclusions: At early stages of PD patients color differentiating skill is decreased, but after using “carbidopa-levodopa” pills, the patients health status improved consequently. All results shows that IT programme is helpful to detect PD at early stages as soon as possible.
