Session Title: Parkinson’s Disease: Clinical Trials, Pharmacology And Treatment

Objective: To investigate the impact of new devised program for care and rehabilitation for patients with Parkinsonism.
Background: Monitoring and rehabilitation, proper care, psychological support form an indispensable part in the restoration of the patients.
Methods: 42 patients investigated with Parkinsonism of various genesis: 1-group 17 patients with Parkinson’s Disease, 2-group 14patients with vascular Parkinsonism, 3-group with Parkinsonism of mixed genesis were 11patients.Analysis of daily routines, pschylologic state and movement changes during 3 months by devised special plan for caring and rehabilitation against a background of basic therapy.
Results: Daily exercises by reporting methodology showed an improvement in gait, body remains, handwriting and reduction in stiffness, rigidity by day 10-12th of rehabilitation. Size letters and clarity writing of words has been improved by 33%, 42% and 54% in 1-group, 2-group and 3-group relatively. With regard to gait improvement, in 1-group patients’ steps became wider (it has been measured by footsteps in sand), coordination of movements became clearer, patients started to ask questions, flavor to history, increased amplitude of the fine hand movements, became sociable, more smiling and symptoms of depression decreased. In the 2 group patients the monotony of speech has been decreased, reflexes became clearer but asymmetry persisted, decreased tremor in hands, emotional background become more stable. Patients of 3-group revealed a clear change in the motor, verbal, emotional and volitional activity.
Conclusions:
Hereby, in a timely and proper care and rehabilitation of patients with Parkinsonism can be achieved the reduction of disability, improving quality of life and psycho-emotional adaptation through to maintain their self-service for a long period.
