Objective: To compared the effects of probiotics and Anti-PD particles on the behavior of mice with MPTP Parkinson’s disease (PD) model.
Background: Intestinal flora may play an important role in alleviating the development of PD, improving the imbalance of intestinal flora, improving the symptoms of PD and delaying its progress.
Method: One hundred healthy male C57BL / 6 mice were randomly divided into 5 groups with 20 mice in each group: normal control group (A), PD control group (B1), PD probiotic intervention group (B2), Anti-PD particles intervention group (B3), and probiotics and Anti-PD particles joint intervention group (B4). To made PD model, MPTP (40mg· kg-1 ·d-1×7) were intraperitoneally injected into mice. 1ml·d-1 normal saline was injected into the mice from group A and group B1 by gavage. 109·d-1 probiotic solution were injected into the mice from group B2 and B4 by gavage, while 40mg·kg-1·d-1 probiotics (concentrated by 800mg· ml-1) was injected into mice from group B3 and B4 by gavage. The performances of mice were tested with climbing bar experiment, hanging experiment and swimming experiment at each time point (15d, 1 month, 2 months, 3 months and 4 months).
Results: (1)Experiment score of climbing pole : There were significantly difference between group B1 and group B2 (P <0.05) at 3 ,4 months. And after 1 month ,there were significantly difference between group B1 and B3( P < 0.05), also with group B4( P < 0.05). At the 4 months ,there were significantly difference between group B2 and B3( P < 0.05), also with group B4( P < 0.05). (2)Suspension experiment score: Compared between group B1 and group B2,group B1 and group B3,group B1 and group B4,there were significantly difference after 1 month( P < 0.05, P < 0.01, P < 0.05). (3)Swimming experiment scores of each group:At 3 and 4 months, there were significantly difference between group B1 and B3( P < 0.05), also with group B4( P < 0.05). There were no difference between group B2, B3 and B4 at all time points.
Conclusion:
Probiotics and anti-PD particles can improve the behavior of PD mice ,and anti-PD particles had certain advantages than probiotics.
