Objective: The aim of the study is to determine the clinical and epidemiological features of PD in low-income countries on the example of Kyrgyzstan.

Background: Parkinson disease (PD) is a complex, multisystem disorder with both neurologic and systemic nonmotor manifestations. It is neurodegenerative in nature in which disordered balance, gait, and falls are universal problems that can be present at initial diagnosis, and which progress over time.

Method: 30 subjects diagnosed with PD (male- 4, female-26), with mean age of 60.2 years (IQR 39-73) and a mean duration of disease of 5.6 years.Data were collected between February 2021 and November 2023 in clinical hospital in Osh city of Kyrgyzstan.

Results: Most common non-motor symptoms werecognitive disorders (93.3%), overall weakness (83.3%), sleep disturbance(56.7%),increase in blood pressure (56.7%), while urinary disturbances(40%), impulsivity (26.7%),noise in the ears(16.7%) were less frequent.

The disease began after stressful situations (53.3%), unknown (26.7%), TBI(23.3%), hypertensive disease (6.7%), hereditary predisposition (6.7%), stroke(3.3%), using pesticides(3.3%).

Employment status: don’t work – 60%, busy – 26.7%, disabled – 13.3%.

The first visiting a doctor and treatment was administered approximately 1 year after the onset of the disease.

Conclusion: Clinical and epidemiological features ofPD in Kyrgyzstan has its own characteristics.PD in our country is more common in women.Most common non-motor symptoms are cognitive disorders and overall weakness. The common cause of the disease is stressful situation. 73.3% people with PD loose their ability to work , because they visit the doctor too late and doesn’t receive appropriate treatment.
