Objective: To identify non-motor symptoms in patients with Parkinson’s disease, depending on the severity of the disease.
Background: Parkinson’s disease is a chronic disease, as a result of which neurons of the brain are destroyed and die. The main signs of the disease: trembling of hands, slowness of movement, stiffness, pain, disturbances of motor dynamics and psyche. The disease leads to disability, leaving complete clarity of consciousness. Practically in every patient suffering from PD, in the clinical picture there are non-motor symptoms (NMS). Studies show that, on average, most patients have 8-12 NMSs.
Method: In our work, we studied non-motor manifestations among 51 patients. Men 17 and women 34. The age of patients fluctuated from 51 to 82 years. On the scale of Hen and Yar, the degree of severity of the patients was determined.
The degree of severity of the patients
Easy degree 34%
Moderate degree of 51%
Heavy 15%
The comparison group was comparable in age and sex, without CNS diseases. All patients underwent a questionnaire of non-motor symptoms of NMSQuest.
Results: In general, the average number of NMSs in a patient with PD with mild severity varies from 1 to 5, the moderate stage from 6 to 9, and the severe stage from 13 to 18, compared to the control group in which this index ranged from 1 to 3. The most frequent NMS was a violation of urination, further descending are constipation, memory impairment, anxiety, depression, fatigue and insomnia
Conclusion: With mild severity of patients with PD revealed a violation of the ability to smell taist hyposmia.
With a moderate degree of severity of patients with PD, there was a violation in the form of constipation, incontinence, nocturia
With severe severity of patients with PD, salivation, constipation, urinary incontinence, nocturia, impaired memory and attention, depression, anxiety.
