Session Title: Cognitive Disorders
Session Time: 1:15pm-2:45pm
Location: Exhibit Hall C
Objective: We aimed to assess the cognitive impairment using FP-CIT SPECT in mild cognitive impairment or dementia patients.
Background: In general, FP-CIT SPECT reflect pre-synaptic dopamine transporter in the striatum. The decrease in the uptake of FP-CIT is associated with the motor symptoms in Parkinson’s disease patients. However the relationship between cognitive impairment and FP-CIT uptake remains unclear.
Methods: We performed retrospective cohort study in 30 patients with cognitive impairment and assessed the relationship between cognitive decline rate and the Specific Binding Ratio (SBR) in FP-CIT SPECT.
Results: There is a correlation between specific cognitive decline rate and SBR in FP-CIT SPECT.
Conclusions: We discuss the potential association between SBR and specific cognitive impairment.
